34th International Scientific Council for Trypanosomiasis Research and Control
The 34th edition of the International Scientific Council for Trypanosomiasis Research and Control (ISCTRC) took place from 11-15 September 2017 in Livingstone, Zambia. From the DiTECT-HAT consortium, V. Lejon (IRD-France, photo middle), P. Büscher (ITM-Antwerp) and V. Jamonneau (IRD and IPR-Côte d’Ivoire, photo left) and O. Camara and M. Camara (PNLTHA-Guinea) were present.
On Wednesday during the Human African trypanosomiasis session, two oral presentations were given about the project. The first presentation (2.09), given by V. Lejon presented the DiTECT-HAT project activities as a whole. Next, P. Büscher presented (2.10) digital recording of participant data in DiTECT-HAT, including pictures and videos.
The importance of projects like DiTECT-HAT was again underlined in the ISCTRC final recommendations, stating that new diagnostic tools and algorithms should be independently evaluated.
